Aye and Bepurra!

It's Time for the Wearing of the... Red?

You may be thinking you see "orange" tabbies and tortoiseshells, but in the world of cat fur where grey cats are "blue" - orange fur is actually called...

RED!

We heard that on St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish - and what could be more Irish than a redheaded cat! Before the holiday is too far in the rearview mirror, we want to celebrate a few of our redheads looking for homes!

These redheads say they can't wait to share corned beef and cabbage with you (hold the cabbage)!

Ashton — the kind of orange boy people hope for and rarely find.

This stunning long-haired orange gentleman has that classic sunshine personality orange boys are famous for: affectionate, devoted, and effortlessly

charming. Ashton truly loves his people. He leans in for pets, happily soaks up attention, and will reward you with soft purrs and gentle head nudges.

This friendly guy loves nothing more than being near, curled up against, or sitting on top of his people so he can soak up attention and purr as loud as he can.

A champion biscuit maker, Evan settled into his foster home within minutes and spends his days napping on cozy blankets and playing with his favorite toys. He's especially fond of his catnip filled banana, which he will wrestle with and lick for hours!

Evan is good with kids and independent enough to spend the day on his own but would love to be your lap companion if you work from home.

Jupiter is a orange red tabby female, yes a female, not the usual orange tabby boy! :) This sweet lady loves human attention!

She came to us from a rural shelter where someone dropped her because they were moving.

FFGW made sure to get her to our foster homes so she could make sure she could find a home that won't leave her again.

This sweet, talkative, funny girl is looking for a home she can own - but she'll let her doating humans live there too as long as their rent is paid in pets, snuggles, and meal prep!  She'll gladly share her bed and surprise you with a stealth toy delivery during the night.

Lucy's story is proof of Feline Foundation's commitment that once a kitty is brought into the rescue, they are always a part of our family.  She originally found her way as a kitten from the streets of Puerto Rico to FFGW in the summer of '19.   She was quickly adopted and had many loving years with her adopter.  Sadly though, her adopter recently passed away and the family had to make the difficult decision to rehome Lucy.  They knew that FFGW was the first place they were supposed to turn in that situation - once an FFGW cat, always an FFGW cat.  Change and loss is never easy, but after a quick stop at one of our partner vets, Lucy is back with one of her original fosters from when she was a kitten.  She's settling in and starting to feel secure again.

When you're wearing the green - don't forget to consider some of our fantastic redheads and bring a little luck o'the feline into your home!

Public Service Announcement

Watch Those Doors & Windows!

If you’ve noticed that the days are getting warmer and the birds are coming back, you can be sure your furry friends have noticed too! PLEASE be extra aware of loose window screens, unsecured doors, and those entering and exiting your house, as your cats are extra aware too!

We get more calls for lost pets and fosters this time of year than the rest of the year combined. Spring is in the air, and your cat’s instincts are in overdrive, so please take the extra time to be mindful around the front and back doors of your house and ensure the coast is clear before opening that door! Also, open windows from the top instead of the bottom when you can to prevent cats from squeezing out of a loose or broken screen. If you are tackling a home improvement project, please clearly communicate with household workers that your pets are indoor only, and secure your pets in a room or separate floor of the house whenever possible.

Lastly, make sure your pet’s microchip has your *current* phone number and address. Microchips can cost as little as $40 at your veterinarian, so please make sure your dog or cat can be returned to you should they escape by having them chipped, if they aren’t already! (FFGW chips cats prior to adoption!)

Any products you select from our wish list will be delivered directly to us for use at our adoption center at Just Cats Boarding Center and by our fosters!

Thanks to everyone who has donated food, treats, litter, beds, toys...  Chewy's platform doesn't allow us to see the names of our generous donors, but please know that your support is very much appreciated!  And if you drop us a line and let us know when you donate something, we'll be more than happy to send our thanks!
