IF you’re in Australia, the start of the new year means it’s time to think about preparing your home or business for storm season. It's not second nature but instinct will soon kick in once you see or hear news reports coming in.

I hope in every instance that a storm, cyclone, hurricane or even a whirly whirly passes without incident and with minimum disruption. That said sometimes Mother Nature pushes us aside and puts on a good show for all to witness. In those times, it really is just a spectator sport, sit back, batten down and wait for the calm to come.

Generally the first thing to go will be the power and with that all our essentially items that run a home or business. First line of backup is the generator, however make sure the first time you decide to run it after a long period of time is NOT when you need it.
