When our dishwasher broke, I thought the next two weeks would be nothing but inconvenience. After all, we cook from scratch every day, and often have guests — that’s a lot of pots, pans, and dishes to wash by hand.
However, during this time dishwashing became connection time. It turned into conversations, laughter, and great memories. And when my son came to visit, I realized he had carried forward a lesson I endeavored to teach him years ago.
