Friend,
It's hard to admit this, but my hair had been thinning. Not enough to worry me, but enough that I paid attention.
When I spoke with a healer I’ve known for many years, he said something simple that stayed with me:
When a plant is struggling, you don’t work on the plant. You work on the soil.
He explained that in my case, the “soil” was emotional, and what was killing my soil was that I avoid confrontation. It's true. I do... Or I did, not anymore, cause I want to keep my hair, and see it grow thicker and healthier!
That idea stayed with me because it opened up a larger question:
If we are the plant, what is the soil of our life?
And in Feng Shui, the answer is clear—your home is the soil of your life.
My doctor's analogy led me into a deeper reflection about emotional health, confrontation, and how the spaces we live in quietly shape how we think, feel, and respond to life.
It also made me think about something I see often in my work: when people get stuck while working through Feng Shui steps, it isn’t a failure. It usually means something is being revealed that needs attention.
I wrote about all of this here:
