Subject: Gates Scholarship: Personal Statement

Gates Scholarship
Throughout the week, we have been studying the Gates Scholarship (GS). Yesterday we focused specifically on how to choose your recommenders for the scholarship. Today, we will work on actually writing an essay not only for the GS but for majority of scholarships called a Personal Statement.
A personal statement is an essay where you can describe yourself to college advisors and scholarship committees and tell them your life story. This is where you allow them to know you and your background. Personal statements can be a determining factor between acceptance and rejection. Make yours count!
