Subject: 2017 Winter Academic Conference Recap

From December 21st-23rd we conducted our Annual Winter Academic Conference at the Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel.

Read below for a recap of our activities.
108 Participants visited the University of Chicago and Northwestern University, two highly selective institutions. Throughout the weekend, participants attended 16 presentations on topics such as 
  • "Stay Woke": How to Persevere in Tough Times
  • "Wild Thoughts": How to Sort Ideas for Quality, Concise Essays
  • "You Know Where That Comma Be", and more.

39 services were provided to students and the total amount of time we spent with them over the weekend is 28 hours.
Workshops that participants attended covered services such as SAT Prep, College Readiness, FAFSA Workshops, Life Skills, Test-Taking Skills, Career Awareness, and Financial Literacy.

We also held the 2017 Scholar Bowl to test students' knowledge of material learned during the workshops.
