Awesome work! Your FAFSA has been submitted and the college acceptance letters are finally starting to roll in. So, what's next? It's now time to start focusing on applying for scholarships to help fund your post secondary education. Before you get started, check out these simple tips below.

February Scholarships

Illinois PTA Lillian E. Glover Scholarship
Deadline: February 15, 2017
Eligibility requirements: 
  • Must be a high school senior graduating 4.0 scale 
  • Enrolling in a college or university in education or education-related degree 
Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships 
Deadline: February 15, 2017
Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be a high senior 
  • Plan to attend an accredited & approved 4-year institution in the U.S. 
  • Show leadership potential 
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service 
  • Present evidence of financial need 
  • Be U.S. citizen 
  • Have a minimum SAT score 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or composite ACT of 21
CME Group Mayoral Award for Student Achievement 
Deadline: February 17, 2017
Eligibility requirements: 
  • Strong interest in a business or business-related field 
  • Must be Chicago Public School senior 
  • Must be nominated by school principal/counselor/or college & career coach 
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Excellent attendance (90% or higher)

C.O.R.E. Que Lluvea Cafe Scholarship Program
Deadline: Application must be post marked by February 25, 2017
Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be of Chicano/Latino descent 
  • Must be undocumented, immigrant student
  • Must be enrolling for the first time in an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
  • Must demonstrate financial need

Blacks at Microsoft Scholarship
Deadline: March 1, 2017
Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be a high school senior of African descent
  • Plan to attend a four-year college or university in the fall of the year following high school graduation 
  • Plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing)
  • Demonstrate passion for technology
  • Demonstrate leadership at school or in the community
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3. or higher 
  • Demonstrate financial need
10,000 Degrees Undergraduate Scholarship
Deadline: March 2, 2017
Eligibility requirements: 
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must be enrolled in a program leading to a first associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or teaching credential during the 2017-2018 academic year
CRCA Scholarship
Deadline: March 3, 2017
Eligibility requirements: 
  • High school senior
  • Provisionally accepted as a full-time student into undergraduate degree programs by four-year accredited colleges for the following field of study- liberal arts and sciences, engineering, architecture, or business.
  • U.S. Citizen residing in Cook or other area counties 
  • ACT composite of 29 or greater 
Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter (JASSAC) Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Academic Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2017
Eligibility requirements:
  • Must attend high school and reside in a "604" or "608" (Joliet Area and South Suburbs) zip code
  • Must be a graduating senior
  • Must be a person of color (minority)
  •  Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.0 scale for 3.75/5.0 scale

Chicago Urban League Scholarship
Deadline: March 24, 2017
Eligibility requirements:
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Expect to graduate this year from high school and enroll in a full-time undergraduate degree-granting program OR
  • Be enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student in a degree-granting program OR
  • Completing a two-year college program and expecting to enroll in a degree-granting program at a four-year institution
Hispanic Scholarship Foundation
Deadline: March 30, 2017
Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be of Hispanic heritage
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for high school students 
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for undergraduate and graduate students
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, not-for-profit, 4-year university, or graduate school, during the fall of a scholarship cycle (year)
  • U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, DACA or eligible non-citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
  • Completed FAFSA
