Subject: The Revival of the Single Eye

A Message by Gabriel Cleator

Dear Families,

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” —Matthew 6:22

The Lord desires for us to have a “single eye” focus on Him and that He would have first place in our hearts. In our Message of the Month, “The Revival of the Single Eye,” Gabriel Cleator challenges listeners to throw off complacency and earnestly seek Christ with an undivided heart.

One of the greatest competitors to a single eye for Christ is distraction. According to James 1:8, “a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” However, as we turn from distractions and instead spend time with the Lord in the Word and prayer, our love for Him will grow, and our focus on Him will be honed.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus preceded speaking of having a single eye with this truth: “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:21). Our time on earth is brief. While here, one of our greatest treasures is time. As we invest our time in that which will count for eternity, the gaze of our soul will turn heavenward, and our heart will become more set on things above.

As you listen to this message about having a single eye, may you be encouraged to focus each day on Christ and be challenged to live your life in light of eternity!
