Dear Families,

As Easter Sunday approaches, Christians around the world rejoice in the significance of this special day. Easter, also called Resurrection Sunday, marks the greatest day in human history, when Jesus Christ our Savior conquered the power of sin, death, and the grave!

This Message of the Month is especially selected in light of preparing to observe the special commemoration of the Holy Week. Pastor Johnny Pope’s impactful message, “The Power of the Cross,” will remind you of what happened because of Calvary. Pastor Pope describes not only the physical pain and suffering that Jesus walked through on His way to the cross, but also the spiritual agony He experienced during the separation from His Heavenly Father.

This excellent presentation will guide you to the truth of what Jesus Christ actually did and endured that fateful day outside of Jerusalem. Sometimes we overlook the dire condition that all of mankind was in prior to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We were sinful and justly due the penalty of death. However, Jesus took upon His guiltless self “the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6) and paid the price for it in our place.

Jesus willingly took the punishment that we deserved so that we could have peace with God and experience the hope and joy of everlasting life with Him. However, only those who receive Him as their Savior have this hope and joy.

As we approach Resurrection Sunday, may this Message of the Month encourage you to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. May you rejoice afresh in the reality that the tomb is empty and that we serve a risen Savior!
