Dear Families,

There are so many important things happening in our own lives and families, besides all that is going on in the world around us. How to raise our children for the Lord, or can we make a difference for Him are some of the questions parents and families are asking. Upheaval in national and international politics, the economy, culture issues, and our own churches and communities are all vying for our attention. Distraction is easy and sometimes even expected.

In this Message of the Month, Pastor Gil Bates encourages all of us, but especially fathers, to focus on "the one thing necessary." This is a timely message as the summer comes to an end and we look forward to beginning another school year.
