Subject: Announcing the Sound Foundations 2026 dates and instructors!

The Sound Foundations 2026 Class!

Dear Students,

We are excited to announce the Sound Foundations dates for this year! The 2026 session of Sound Foundations will be July 6–25. Sound Foundations will offer three levels, all occurring simultaneously over those dates.

Are you interested in learning more about music but unsure of where to begin? Are you a previous Sound Foundations student who is interested in expanding your musical knowledge? We encourage you to consider attending this upcoming course!

Sound Foundations

July 6–July 25, 2026

(Early registration discount deadline: May 25)

At Sound Foundations, you will hone theory skills, dive into songwriting, learn to lead children’s choir, excel in choral singing, and more—all while being challenged to deepen your walk with the Lord. The Biblical discipleship aspect is the most vital part of the course and is key for the eternal impact in the lives of our music students.

The three levels available in 2026:

LEVEL 1 — an overview of music, theory, hymnology, as well as children’s choir, songwriting, and orchestrations,

LEVEL 2 — music theory concepts, such as harmonizing melodies, writing four-part harmonies, and working with cadences, and

LEVEL 3 — advanced music theory applied in part-writing, including 7th chords, borrowed dominant forms, multiple modulation techniques, and more!

You will be called to excellence in each level, both musically and in your walk with God! Once again, dynamic instructors will be teaching at Sound Foundations in 2026. Dr. Aaron Baker is a skilled vocalist, arranger, and church music leader. His desire is to lay a foundation of Godly musical skills for the next generation, and we are thrilled that he will be teaching at this course.

Also teaching will be instructor Teresa Ong. Mrs. Ong has taught music courses and conducted choirs and instrumental groups. She has been a church pianist/organist and music coordinator since 1982. Also, she has been a violinist in the Chattanooga Symphony, the Jefferson Symphony, and currently performs in the Loveland Orchestra.

Gabriel Cleator will be involved with the discipleship aspect of the course. At the morning chapel times, he will share from God’s Word insights, exhortations, and encouragement with Sound Foundations students and instructors. Gabriel will seek to challenge students to live with a wholehearted love and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ!
