In 1900, a survey was taken of families across the United States, asking them what it would take for them to be happy. Those surveyed identified seventy-two things they believed they needed to be happy. The exact same survey was conducted fifty years later. By 1950, the average American family noted 496 things they thought were needed to be on the list to make them happy. How did that list grow by almost seven times in just fifty short years?!

If the same survey were done today, seventy-five years later, how long would it be? What really is the key to experiencing joy in your personal life and family? Is it having a lot of money, living in a big house, or driving a nice car?
