TITLE: Name Change

Jett peeled off his surgical gloves and threw them in the trash. He followed the client into the lobby and sent him on his way. He leaned over the counter and smiled at Trudy.
“Only you could make that snake on his back look like a heart. Another disaster redeemed.” She leaned toward him and kissed his cheek, her red curls tickling his nose.
Jett allowed himself to enjoy the moment. Since he’d gotten clean, he’d made a decent living by fixing drunken, lovesick tat mistakes. He had Trudy to thank for that. He’d endured 18 months in prison, and Trudy promised to wait for him if he’d get clean and quit dealing. He’d received a reduced sentence because he ratted on B. A. Nero.
B. A. got 10 years.
Jett practiced his art during the day, and fought demons at night. Whatever good he did never rid his sleep of the fleshless, pointing fingers of addicts. He had two years to figure out where to go before B. A. got out and came after him.
“Who’s next on the schedule?” He heard a car door slam and looked out the window. A bulldozer in a white t-shirt and jeans rolled toward the shop. Jett’s heart screeched to a stop. He grabbed his throat and gasped for breath.
“What’s wrong with you?” Trudy’s face went white.
Adrenaline buzzed him. He dived over the counter, cut the lights, locked the door, and pulled the shade. He crouched on the floor. “Get down! It’s B.A. He’s out early.” But how? Good behavior and B.A. Nero could never exist in the same space. Maybe he gave up info and cut a deal. Either way, I’m toast.
“Don’t be crazy. What’s he gonna do? Get himself thrown right back in? He probably just wants work done.” Trudy walked around the counter and unlocked the door.
Jett grabbed her by the ankles. “No!”
B. A. stepped in and looked at Jett on the floor, still holding onto Trudy’s ankles. He reached his hand down and pulled Jett to a stand in one fluid motion. “You OK, man?”
Words stuck in Jett’s throat.
“Hi, B.A. Didn’t know you got out,” Trudy said.
“Yes, just last week. Need some repair work on my back.” He took off his t-shirt and turned around. Jett shuddered at the skull with flaming red eyes and menacing grin. The caption underneath gave B. A. his well-deserved nickname.
“Looks fine to me. Are you wanting to add something?” Like I Kill Snitches?
“I need the skull replaced with this.” He pulled a piece of paper from his pocket. Angel wings. “You can leave the B and the A, but replace the rest of the letters with this.” He took a pencil from the counter and wrote Born Again under the wings.
“I can probably do that.” If his hands would stop shaking. “What’s that, a new gang?” Jett motioned him to the workroom.
“In a way. I found Jesus while I was locked up.”

Let’s talk about everyone’s favorite subject…money. Neutral, yes, but it can bring a snare to our souls.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10 NIV
Padding the time sheet, withholding information about hidden costs, or failing to share the things wrong with a used car, are all too common. Generally, there is underlying deception in contemporary business. They don’t care about us, it’s all about the money.
We often get emails which say something like this:
"Free Gift”
“You have won…”
“Free marketing expertise…”
“Click here for your reward!”
They want me to buy their product before I get their “free” offer. These things are not free at all. Have you ever heard “If you’re not lyin’ you’re not tryin?”
If we have received Jesus’s sacrificial death on the cross as sufficient payment for our sin, He promises to meet all our needs, so we are free to use our business in service to Him in honesty and integrity. Knowing the deceitfulness of riches will keep us on track: free from affection, pretense, simulation, falsehood, and deceit.
Hallelujah! He is the one who gives us the power to produce wealth.
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV

| | Another Great Way to Improve The Critique CircleFellow Members Need Your Help.
Providing comments and critiques for fellow members is of great encouragement to them. It is also the perfect way to improve your writing skill.
Tips on Giving Critiques
Critiquing the work of others requires balance. Being too nice will not help your fellow writers develop their work; being too harsh can crush a writer’s ego (particularly new writers, who tend to be shy about sharing their work). How can you achieve the right balance? Here are some tips:
Take care to point out both what works, and what doesn’t. If you’re new to critiquing, a good hint would be to point out one thing you like (a phrase, a description, an idea) for each thing that bothered you.
Whenever possible, be specific when pointing out things that you didn’t like (don’t just say “I didn’t like this part” or “I’d cut that,” say “I didn’t like this part because…” or “I’d cut that because…”).
Try to offer suggestions when you think a change is needed. Suggestions, even to the point of an offered rewording, can be very helpful; even if the suggestion isn’t exactly right for the author to use, he or she may get a good idea from it, or at least a better understanding of the point you are trying to make.
Be honest and direct, but in a polite and caring way. Holding back your feelings about a piece because you’re afraid to share your thoughts isn’t going to help anyone. Just be mindful of how you share your opinions!

There is a whole host of sites run by atheists who are doing their very best to mislead seekers and destroy Christianity, just search Jesus never existed and see what you find.
Will you make a personal commitment to publish at least one article per month in our regular articles or free reprints sharing the truth of the gospel? It does not need to be a lengthy article, just what God leads you to post. Be creative with your keywords when you post and list things like suicide, divorce, and bankruptcy to draw those who might be considering these.

1) This first one was from a person who hacked FaithWriters a few years ago. We feared the entire site might be lost. We prayed for our hackers and posted articles letting them know that their salvation was more important than the website. The shutdown of the site stopped and we received this message through our evangelism page. I am certain is was our hacker.

Our main ongoing expenses come from administering the Challenge, other tools that help writers improve and site maintenance. We have increasing regular expenses and heftier one time expenses like converting our large site to a mobile responsive site. We always seem to have some type of technical issue cropping up that needs to be corrected too.
