TITLE: One Voice
By Terry R A Eissfeldt
04/15/15 ~3rd Place

You know his name
the one with the face
of an angel
Stephan the first
martyr

He felt no shame
in his young faith
his Beloved Saviour
would lead him

What a change
came to his demeanour
as he stood up
and demonstrated
the freedom

to speak
to believe

Stone upon stone fell
Fire and brimstone from hell
Trying their hardest to quell

the choice
the voice

You know his name
the one famous
for doubting
Thomas one of
the Twelve

He felt such shame
for asking to see
his Beloved Saviour’s
hands and side

What a change
happened in Asia
as he stood up
against idolatry and
for freedom

to speak
to believe

Stone upon stone fell
Fire and brimstone from hell
Trying their hardest to quell

Beyond Belief: Jesus Saved You ... Now What?
Abby Kelly

Beyond Belief: Jesus Saved You...Now What? explores what God has in store for you and what He wants from you. With a firm foundation on the centrality of Christ, this book will help you see exactly who you are and what you are called to, based on, and enabled by, His righteousness alone.

This is just one example of over 30 books you can read for free in exchange for a review. Many others have multiple five star reviews too. One book is running just below five stars with 74 reviews and it is listed in the top five books of its two categories. Another with over 30 reviews is running close to five stars and was honored as the book of the year by a major theological website. Another has over 20 reviews and is running almost five stars. Read one of these or one that has just joined the program and desperately needs reviews.

These are all free to read for you while others pay full price on Amazon. Plus you receive the bonus of helping a fellow believer and FaithWriters member. It takes reviews to sell books these days and other members really appreciate your help.

Go HERE to find a great book to read for FREE.

Hurry and choose one while they are still free to read! The authors can take their books out of this program at any moment.

Doe's it seem like sin has dominion in your life?

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14

The Bible tells us that sin can only have dominion over us if we are living under the law instead of Grace.

Be a Better Writer--CHARACTERIZATION by Jan Ackerson

This week’s lesson is for writers of fiction or creative nonfiction—so you writers of devotionals and Bible studies and other nonfiction genres get a week off (or you can stretch yourself and work through the lesson and the homework). I’m going to be covering…

Characterization—the process by which a writer reveals the personality of a character.

Readers are definitely drawn to fully-realized personalities--whether a character is good or evil, human or not—the more we feel that we know that character, the more we’ll be invested in the story.

So—how do you develop a character?

1. By telling your reader directly what the character is like. But be careful—don’t limit yourself to simply adjectival descriptions. It’s far better to write
Joe kicked the puppy than Joe was mean.

2. By describing how a character looks and dresses. Be careful not to just write a list:
Suzy was model-thin, with shining blonde hair and vivid blue eyes. She was wearing a pink tennis skirt, a designer polo, and a bracelet studded with diamonds. Instead, work these details into descriptions of the action.

3. By letting your readers hear the character speak. If you’re writing in 3rd person, the readers will “hear” their actual dialogue.
“Gracious me!” said Millie. “I do believe the turkey may be overcooked!”

If you’re writing in 1st person, your readers “hear” the character through both the dialogue and the narrative. Distressed, I pulled the blackened turkey from the oven. Gracious, burned again. “Well dear, the sweet potatoes will still be delicious…”

Do you lack virtue, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection and love?

The Bible says if we lack these things, it is because we have forgotten that we have been forgiven?

For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. 2 Peter 1:9

Fishers of Men in Over 230 Countries
Together We Spread the Gospel on The Net

Together we are casting a net on the over the web, an extremely important field ready for harvest. The enemy knows this and he is working hard on the internet to lead people down the wrong path. As followers of Jesus we can make a difference by publishing the true message and pointing people to Jesus. Men and women from over 230 countries (View Countries Here) are drawn to the FaithWriters site by the various articles on the end of our virtual fishing pole. Many have no other way but the internet to find out about Jesus. They are able to learn a lot from our site and the sister-sites to which we have provided links. Many click on the sites we link to that offer in-depth information on Jesus because they are able to get more information in their native language.

Hundreds of people from around the world have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior directly through FaithWriters. Plus, as we refer many people to other sites to help answer their questions and accommodate their language. We know it is not about just about numbers. We also know that accepting Jesus and confessing Him is just where it starts. It is honor to consider the fact that God would use us in this way. The numbers are encouraging for us though and we will love encouragement.

We contact every person who leaves an email address, and provide them with more information. Sometimes we correspond with them several times. We even offer to place them in contact with another believer (FaithWriters member) in their country.
Consider how much time people --- especially kids --- spend on the internet these days. Watch this two minute video on how Kimberly found God on the internet.

Thank You FaithWriters!

Are We  Already Sanctified or in the Process?

… but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Cor 6:11 NASB

we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Heb 10:10 NASB

For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. Heb 10:14 NASB

And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Acts 20:32 NASB

The Greek word for sanctified is “hagiazó” (I make holy, treat as holy, set apart as holy, sanctify, hallow, purify). It’s the same word used in the Lord’s Prayer in Luke 11:2 for Hallowed, meaning holy.

Let’s Do It Together - By Sheldon Bass

“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.” Psalm 34:3 KJV

Millions of people love the Psalms and have received comfort from them. The 34th Psalm was written by David while on the run from Saul, just after he feigned insanity in the presence of the Philistine king of Gath. It was a clever ruse to insure he would not be killed.

This 3rd verse really spoke to my heart. David was exuberant and joyful amidst extremely trying circumstances. In fact he was so thankful that he wanted others to join with him in praising God.

As Christians, we’re often taught to share each other’s suffering and bear one another’s burdens. But I don’t think we celebrate each other’s joys enough. If Christ has brought blessing to our lives shouldn’t we be sharing it with each other? When my siblings in Christ receive an award, or are joyful over anything, do I celebrate with them? Joy is a contagious state of elation, and it’s my belief that we should cause a juggernaut of Joy throughout the world. (I just pictured the crowds at a football game doing the wave.)

However, the most wondrous aspect of sharing our joy is the praise to God which it induces. Have you recently invited others to join you in praising God for what He has done in your life, as well as in their own life? Worship leaders understand how their own praises reach a most fervent pitch when the congregation they’re leading are joyfully singing from the heart!

Oh what a glorious day it will be when all of the redeemed shall join voices as one huge church, singing praises to our awesome King! Let’s magnify and exalt His name together.
