Subject: Friend, want to help decide new book title? Plus conventions and more

The Everyday Educator
February 5, 2015

Dear Friend,

How is your year going so far? I've been deeply immersed in finishing a new book on model-based writing (more on that below), so January flew by. I just wanted to ask your help with deciding on the new book title, and let you know that convention season is starting at the end of this week. I hope to see you at one or more of the conferences I'll be attending.

I hope you'll check out The Memory Project and all the new resources at Excellence-in-Literature.com. And I'd be very grateful if you would take the short survey on the new book title. I just can't seem to decide what it should be!

Have a wonderful month, and remember to make time for things that matter most!

Warmly,

Janice Campbell

P.S. After I finished creating the survey, I received the title suggestion of Exemplary Writing: What It Is and How to Do It. Since I can't add it to the survey now, I'll just ask here—what do you think of it? It's rather a nice play on words, and considerably shorter than some of the other options. You can leave feed back on the survey itself, or in the comments on the blog where the survey is posted

Here's my
new book!

I've written a new book, and am stuck on the title.
Can you help me decide on a title and subtitle, and give me your opinion on the cover concept?
I've posted a short survey at the link below.

The current working title/subtitle describes the book, but it is too long to use, and not very appealing:

Teach Yourself (and Your Students) to Write Like Charlotte and Ben:
How to Create and Use Model-Based Writing Lessons from Great Literature

Other Title Options
—Model-Based Writing
—Exemplary Writing: What It Is and How to Do It.
—Writing with Models

You'll find more title choices in the survey.
Thank you!
On the road again

The first two conferences of the year are here!

I am hoping to see you this coming weekend in Raleigh at the Heart for Homeschool Conference.

February 6-7

Next weekend, I plan to be in Forth Worth, Texas for the first Great Homeschool Convention of the year.

NOTE: Is there anyone in the area who would be willing to be at my booth during the times I am speaking (it would be nice if you are familiar with my books)? I would be very willing to barter books for an hour or more of your time.

The Memory Project

I’ve been thinking about memory lately. Specifically, about what is stored there, and how to be more purposeful about what is added.

I’ve decided that one of my projects for this year will be to fill in some of the gaps and add a few new pieces. I’m calling it The Memory Project, and I plan to memorize something each month. Would you like to join me?

For the month of January, I renewed my memory of Psalm 8, and memorized “Pied Beauty” by Gerard Manley Hopkins.
I haven't quite decided what to memorize for February.
