Subject: QSO Today: Working FM Satellites with WD9EWK

QSO Today Message
Dear Friend,

Not much to report on the pandemic here in Israel.  3 million of our population have had our shots.  We all have cabin fever and anxious to get on with our lives.  Our leaders are not yet able to define what that means and the natives are getting restless.  From my reading of the news, this seems to be the story everywhere.

I updated the QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo website with the four "build-a-thons" that we will be doing over the Expo weekend.  This is an experiment to see if we build together in a virtual environment.

My Airmeet lounge is still open for visitors.  If I am around, then join me at table 1,  or meet with your friends around the tables.  When you enter the Airmeet lounge, go down to the tables and click on a chair. Here is the link: http://bit.ly/3iJNd2V

Last week I re-ran a great conversation that I had with Bob Allphin, K4UEE.  Bob is a big DXpeditioner and world traveler.  This week I interviewed Patrick Stoddard, WD9EWK, who loves to work satellites using portable gear from just about anyplace.  He convinced me that I could easily re-purpose my old Icom W2A as a dual band, full duplex FM satellite radio.  I can't wait to try.
