Subject: QSO Today Update from Eric

QSO Today with Eric Guth, 4Z1UG

Dear Friend,

Forgive me for not writing for at least a few weeks, there seems to be a lot happening in the World and with me. This message is my update.

Since the last Expo, I had an opportunity to take the CWops, CW Academy Basic Class, to improve my CW skills. Truthfully, I have not been on CW since 1974. I am a little rusty, but like riding a bicycle, you don't forget the code. My instructor was Roland Smith, K7OJL, my guest in QSO Today episode 349. Roland was a great and patient instructor, and my classmates were in England, Ireland, and Portugal. A great group of guys.

CW Academy is very well organized, the material very well put together, along with lots of audio files and on-line teaching "machines". The homework is demanding and requires lots of time commitment. My CW speed is now around 10 words a minute. Hopefully you will find me on the air.

I sent out invitations to 29,000 hams on my mailing list as a call for speaker presentations for the next QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo coming August 14th and 15th. I already have 41 excellent presentations lined up. If you would like to make a presentation, please follow the buttons on the Expo website.

The QSO Today Expo YouTube Channel was taken down without explanation last week. I am working to restore it. In the mean time, all of the videos are on the Expo Vimeo Channel. Links to them are on the Expo website.

Finally, my family and I survived the recent missile attack. We press on.

Have a good week, 73,

Eric, 4Z1UG
