SCOTUS Won’t Hear Case Regarding SOCE Therapy Ban in New Jersey
Therapy equality suffered a setback recently when the Supreme Court announced it would not hear a case regarding Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE) therapy in New Jersey, keeping minors and their families in the state trapped in their limited therapy options for unwanted same-sex attractions and gender identity confusion.

Christopher Doyle, a licensed professional counselor, leader in the #TherapyEquality campaign of Equality And Justice For All and co-coordinator of the National Task Force for Therapy Equality, has been working diligently along with other advocates to protect therapy in states across the country.
“The Supreme Court did a great disservice to minors and their families by declining to hear a case that could have again opened up therapy choices in New Jersey, and perhaps other states as well,” Doyle said. “This challenge to a New Jersey law signed by Gov. Chris Christie would have returned to minors their rights of self-determination, as currently counselors in New Jersey are prohibited from providing minors with counseling to reduce unwanted same-sex attractions, behaviors or identity. Another biased Court in New Jersey already closed the doors of the non-profit counseling group JONAH, so it’s clear where the allegiance in the state lies—certainly not with the mental, emotional and physical health of minors or their right to freedom of choice in therapy.”

On its website, Liberty Counsel reported that it took the case to the Supreme Court on behalf of a minor who was receiving such counseling, and his parents, “who desperately wanted to help their son live his life according to the dictates of his conscience and his religious beliefs and values. Prior to receiving this counseling, John Doe dealt with daily thoughts of suicide and depression. As a result of his counseling, however, John Doe was thriving and never dealt with anxiety, depression, or thoughts of suicide.”

Also according to Liberty Counsel, “By refusing to hear the challenge, minors in New Jersey now have no freedom to seek counseling consistent with their sincerely held religious beliefs. Moreover, by allowing the case to stand, there remains a conflict among the federal circuit courts of appeal on the First Amendment speech claims of the counselors and the clients.”

“In their quest to deceive the public, gay activists misrepresenting scientific research, using fictitious horror stories of ‘therapy torture’ and distorting the truth about therapy for unwanted same-sex attractions are now influencing politicians and Supreme Court justices who cannot see through the deception to do what is constitutional for people that desperately want help,” Doyle said. “Those who pursue this therapy do not identify as gay, they do not believe they were born gay, and in many cases, are seeking to resolve unwanted attractions that conflict with their sincerely held religious and spiritual values."

Help the National Task Force File a Complaint with the Federal Trade Commission

Complaint Being Filed Against Gay Activist Groups Profiting from Lies
Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) are fraudulently profiting from their #BornPerfect campaign by falsely promoting the idea that sexual orientation is inborn and cannot change. In addition to misleading the public in order to further their political agenda, these gay activist organizations are actively trying to misrepresent, intimidate, and shut down organizations such as People Can Change (PCC) and others who offer help and healing for those with unwanted same-sex attraction and/or are ex-gay. Last week, HRC, SPLC, and NCLR sent a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission accusing PCC of Consumer Fraud, but they have yet to find a plaintiff who has accused PCC of deception at their peer-led healing weekends.
Because of these outrageous attacks against freedom, Equality And Justice For All and the National Task Force For Therapy Equality will be working on filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against HRC, SPLC and NCLR for their #BornPerfect campaign - but we need your help! Your gift of $10, $25, $50, $100, or more will help us fight against these attacks!

The National Task Force, coordinated by Christopher Doyle and David Pickup is comprised of prominent pro-family organizations, including Equality And Justice For All, The Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity, Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX), Voice of the Voiceless, and many other pro-family and state family policy councils across the United States. The Task Force's objective is to secure therapy equality for those seeking help for unwanted same-sex attractions and fight against therapy ban legislation across the United States. In 2015, our Task Force helped to defeat or stall at least 15 bills!

We believe it's important to remind the FTC that in 2008, the American Psychological Association stated: “Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors.” Gay activist organizations refuse to acknowledge that homosexuality is NOT inborn, change IS possible, and ex-gays DO exist. We are living proof.

Will you help us raise the funds necessary for our lobbying and advocacy work?

Please consider making a generous donation so that we can stand for truth. We appreciate your generosity and any amount you can provide. Thank you for your support!

*Cincinnati has now also banned therapy for minors.
