Subject: Important Web Training for Family Policy Councils

Are legislators in your state considering a bill that would ban therapy for minors who are struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions or gender identity confusion? Five states, the District of Columbia, and several other cities have already banned these therapies (often called "conversion therapy" by gay activists) and more states are at risk to pass this harmful legislation in 2017.

But despite the deceitful and well-funded efforts of gay activists, twenty states in the last four years rejected or refused to pass laws to take away the therapy rights of minors and their families.

Working with many state policy councils, the National Task Force for Therapy Equality has played a large part in preventing those bans - but we need your help to prevent more in 2017!

Will you help us protect and defend the therapy rights of all?
To help your policy council protect therapy freedom in your state, the National Task Force is hosting a live webinar this winter to better equip your efforts to defeat these bills, as well as provide information that may help you influence positive legislation to protect therapy rights!

In this one-hour informational webinar conducted by the Task Force's co-coordinators, Christopher Doyle and David Pickup, you will learn more about what sexual identity therapy is and is not and how to fight proposed bans on therapy for those with unwanted same-sex attractions or gender identity confusion. Some of the topics include:
  • Public relations strategy
  • Petitions (with pre-scripted messaging templates and talking points)
  • Identifying friendly legislators to ask tough questions
  • Preemptive lobbying
  • Finding local therapists and/or former homosexuals who can speak on their positive therapy experiences
Webinar Date and Time

Tuesday, January 31 @ 2:00pm EST

or

Thursday, February 2 @ 2:00pm EST

About the Presenters

David Pickup is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the co-coordinator of the National Task Force for Therapy Equality (#TherapyEquality). He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity and a member of the American Psychological Association.

Christopher Doyle
is a licensed professional counselor and a former homosexual who says therapy changed his life. The co-coordinator of the National Task Force, he is the Executive Director of the Institute for Healthy Families and the Founder/Clinical Director of Northern Virginia Christian Counseling. Now married with five children, Doyle is a leader in the #TherapyEquality campaign of Equality And Justice For All. Doyle said the following about the rights of clients to pursue therapy for sexual/gender identity conflicts:

“Many gay activist groups refuse to accept or tolerate the notion that some people feel that same-sex attractions go against their faith or their morals and want to get help to work through these issues. As a counselor, I am not working to ‘convert’ anyone. Those I work with believe there are specific causes for their unwanted same-sex attractions and gender identity confusion. And I work to help them resolve those issues, affirm their sexual identity, and achieve their goals. Everyone has the right to resolve unwanted desires, attractions, and unmet love needs. If someone desires to work through those issues with a counselor, who are we to stop them?”

The National Task Force includes prominent pro-family organizations such as Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays, Voice of the Voiceless, CitizenLink, Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, The Alliance/NARTH, Restored Hope Network, Family Watch International and many of the family policy councils throughout the United States.

We look forward to having you join us this winter. Thank you for all that you do to protect families and Judeo-Christian values!
