Our culminating event, the Saturday of September 10, 2022, will occur on the field of Pittsburgh Yards as well as inside the Nia building and feature professional, community, and state representative speakers who will speak on our four pillars. The Pillars for this year's festival are Community Development, Financial Literacy, Mental Health, and Cooperative Economics. There will be a marching band, family fun, and community-driven workshops and demos (such as Paint and Pour, Black Cowboys - horseback riding, roping, history, Yoga, Dance classes, Gaming Truck, Legos, Dog adoptions, and Healthy Food demos). The Atlanta Land Trust will have an Affordable Housing community engagement meeting. For the benefit of the community, we will also have free Health Screenings, Job Fair and Panel Discussion that will fall under our pillars of Building Our Community. The Nia Festival will also have live music. We’ll have local bands like Edgewood Heavy, as well as Gritz and Jelly Butter. Spoken word artist Abyss and R and B sensation Torion is also a part of the entertainment lineup. Elu African Drums will be leading a small parade precession thru the yards. Safety protocols will be practiced and adhered to during the event.
