In the days of Jim Crow laws, the “Green Book” let black tourists know where it was safe to dine and stay overnight, the “tourist homes” or private residences made available by African American homeowners. This stirring new drama takes place in just such a home, in Jefferson City, MO, where a black military officer, his wife and a Jewish holocaust survivor share a dramatic exchange that transforms their lives.
