We are looking for volunteers for the next STIR in 2012. Read the info below if you are interested!
CALLING ALL TEENS! We had a blast this last First Word! Thanksgiving weekend is a perfect time to bring the teens! Bring the cousins that are in town! It is a family affair! We are the Central Library on Saturday, November 26th.
Don't eat too much turkey this week! Help someone less fortunate than yourself. Thank the Lord for your many blessings! Holla at ya boy!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR THE NEXT STIR (SOUNDS, THOUGHTS, IDEAS, AND RHYMES)
Just wanted to let you know about some unique volunteer opportunities for an upcoming event. If you're interested in experience in entertainment management, here are some great volunteer opportunities.
We are looking for the following individuals to help with the upcoming STIR events in 2012. Unlike our general volunteer opportunities with open signups, these are specialized positions for which we'd like people who are interested in and, to some degree, have experience with project and production management, event planning, marketing/pr, etc. By expressing interest in these opportunities, you are entering a selection process.
Please review the following primary responsibilities for the volunteer positions. If you're interested in being considered for one of these positions, please submit your resume and/or statement of interest highlighting related experience by Tuesday, November 22nd to info@portersanfordartscenter.com. Those selected will serve in each role for roughly 3 months intervals.
Marketing Coordinator
- Promote STIR on Social Media Circles
- Promote STIR in publications, and in media circles
- Serve as liason for notable figures at the event
- Create Awareness of the event in the Dekalb and Atlanta community
Sponsorship Sales Assistant
- Assist with sponsorship sales for STIR
- Assist with raising awareness of the event in the Dekalb community
Stage Manager
- Assist with organizing logistics of the show
- Develop and execute the run of show for selected venues
Event Coordinator/Project Manager
- Assist with planning and logistics for event
- Assist with ensuring the event runs smoothly
Talent Liaison
- Provide artist support on event day
- Manage Talent/VIP room
- Ensure artists' needs are met day of (product table, etc.)
