Contemplative Arts Newsletter February 2017
FEBRUARY 2017

Warm Greetings
Friend,
Gabriel and Marcy
Welcome to the first Contemplative Arts eNewsletter! In addition to local programs offered, we envision reaching out beyond our Bryn Mawr location to present practice opportunities through the technology of Skype, Zoom, Facebook Live, YouTube, and Teachable. You will be hearing about these opportunities here.

As we explore the development and benefits of the meditation practices we teach, we invite you to post questions on our Facebook page. In addition to answering your questions there, we will feature one each month in this newsletter in our upcoming Reflections section.

We are honored to be sharing the path of meditation with you,
Marcy and Gabriel

HALF-DAY RETREAT
The Healing Power of Contemplation with Marcy and Gabriel
Saturday, March 18th | 9:30 am - 1:00 p.m. | Fee: $ 50.00

Connect with your essential nature: unbounded spaciousness, infinite awareness, and genuine warmth of positive, healing qualities. In this retreat, through the support of guided meditations, you can directly experience this nature and begin to harness the healing power of non-conceptual awareness. Opportunity will be given to reflect upon your life and bring the warmth of positive attention to challenging places. As you connect more deeply with spacious awareness, the healing power of love, compassion, joy, and equanimity naturally arise.

To pre-register, please email Carol Sanders at registrarcontemplativearts@gmail.com*.

*Please indicate March Half Day Retreat in the subject line.

3 Doors Compassion Project - May 2017
In this five-week course plus one weekend retreat day we explore how meditation can support personal transformation and the emergence of positive qualities that allow us to be of benefit to others. Building on basic mindfulness, we learn simple and powerful Tibetan meditation practices of body, speech, and mind in order to apply them in our everyday lives. We examine the obstacles to compassion and the importance of self-compassion, discovering how meditation cultivates love, compassion, joy, and equanimity in relation to self, family, and community. There will be opportunities to receive individual guidance in your meditation practice and to share and benefit from hearing about the experiences you and fellow participants are having in the course. All guided meditations from the class and the retreat day will be recorded and available for audio download as supports to your continuing practice. This class is designed for healthcare providers, educators, therapists, or anyone who is motivated by compassion.

Dates and Times

There are two sections: Five consecutive Wednesday or Thursday evenings beginning May 3rd from 6:30 - 9:00 pm and all day June 3rd or 4th, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Cost: Early bird price: $465. After March 15th: $490.
