what I learned from working when it didn't feel right

Happy Friday, Friend ♥

I hope you have had a good week. If not happy, maybe productive and surrounded by those who love and care for you.

I can chat more about self-care and love, but let me get to the point of this email.

If you've been following me on social media or may read some of my emails you know I've been ranting about how traditional marketing if often a total turn off and energy drain.  Most recently, you may have seen my comments about 6-figure webinars or tricky email subject lines.

Let's just say I get it why folks fall into these practices.  These practices have been around for a long time, and they often work.  Well, they work, like traditional medicine works, i.e., they work fast, but maybe not for the long-term, and may have side effects.

Recently, I fell back into my old ways.  I was busy, wanted to get my Village re-launch off the ground.  So I: Put a date on it.  Focused on pricing and "compelling" deadlines.  Sent out an email and planned the rest of my "launch."  When it came time to send out the follow-up email things began to unravel.

As I considered subject lines for my email and social media posts, I realized I was talking more about a calendar deadline than I was about my original intention for creating this online mastermind community.  I didn't want to "remind" or "warn" people that the "doors were closing tomorrow"  This was the "last chance" to join us.  It made me realize I needed to change my focus, reconnect with my intention and start over again.  SO I DID!

I canceled the re-launch
I didn't send out the remaining email "reminders."  I canceled the re-launch.  Deleted the "closing dates" on the web page and stepped back to take the time to breathe and reconnect with my original vision and intention before moving forward.

I realized I needed to follow my own advice, breathe and slow down to speed up my success.  I needed to go deeper inside and feel my way to a way of offering the value I had in mind without the stress of a closing-date-deadline.  I wanted to lead with yin-feminine love, community and connection - not have it trail behind more yang-masculine, hard-driving marketing techniques. I needed to get clear on what I was offering and how I wanted it to feel before and after folks considered joining me in the Village.

I began to breathe and dream
This resulted in a whole new approach to the membership.  I imagined the members who would join me and what we would be doing in the circle.  It began to feel more like inviting people into my home and offering them my hospitality, not selling a membership.  I focused on how many people I'd invite to this celebration.  What would I "feed" (offer them)?  If it feels good, how long will they want to stay?  How would I get to know them and what will bring them the peace and prosperity I vision for them?  And more of this dreaming.

This changed everything:
  • I brought the intention of mastermind, retreat and self-care to the forefront (for me as I planned, and for members)
  • The  "price goes up XX date" went away and I created a Founding Members Circle of 100 guests (I don't want the party to be so big I can't really connect).
  • I decided to hold the price at the user-friendly level so that people would focus on the connection and benefits in the circle
  • I created an equally friendly, gratitude-level Founders Circle Lifetime membership investment to honor those who would consider hanging out in our circle indefinitely
  • I added a whole new Business Bliss studio to our online sanctuary, knowing that my people will want to mix business and pleasure (retreat and self-care)
  • I began to enhance communication and benefits for existing members - and included an desire to get to know the folks showing up to my celebration in my home/Village -  Founding Members receive the option of a 1:1 clarity session with me (because it's so nice to hear the voice and desires of the folks who show up to your celebration)
  • An affiliate (gratitude affirmation element) so I can thank those who wish to help grow our circle of mission-inspired, heart-centered entrepreneurs.
It feels so much better
Now, I feel so much better. Like homeopathic medicine, it is possible it could take a bit longer to get this circle to my vision of 100 Founding Members, but it will NOT have the stressful side effects of traditional marketing.  I'll get to know the folks who show up and will focus on making sure they enjoy each and every visit to our new and improved YINpreneur™ Village.

I am still crafting the invitation for the village, but I'm sure in time I'll clear out the old, yucky elements so the true feeling and intention will shine. If you want to see where I've gotten so far, check out the Village invite here  http://yinpreneurvillage.com/invite/   There's no time deadline.  Come by when you can. If it resonates, and you wish to receive the benefits of Founding Circle membership, I invite you to join us. I believe we are creating a powerful circle of mission-inspired entrepreneurs who like to breathe, create and have FUN!!!

For now, I invite you to slow down to speed up your success and remember to breathe.
