Public Holiday Notice:

Eid ul-Fitr - Expected on 20th or 21st March

Please note that the Eid ul-Fitr holiday in Mauritius is expected to be observed on Friday 20th or Saturday 21st March, depending on the sighting of the moon.

If the crescent moon is seen, Eid will be celebrated on Friday 20th March and our offices will be closed on that day. All banking transactions, including securities and forex, will resume processing on the next business day after the holiday.

The precise date of Eid ul-Fitr depends on the visibility of the moon.

Eid ul-Fitr is a joyful celebration that marks the end of Ramadan. The occasion begins with the sighting of the new moon. Families come together to enjoy special meals with traditional dishes and sweet treats, while many also mark the day by wearing new clothes and exchanging gifts. In Mauritius, the Muslim community celebrates with family and community gatherings, beautifully decorated homes, and a strong spirit of generosity and togetherness.
