Public Holiday Notice:

Arrival of Indentured Labourers on 2nd November
Observance of Diwali on 9th November

Please note that Monday, 2nd November and 9th November 2026, are public holidays in Mauritius. Our office and banks will be closed on both days. All banking transactions, including securities and forex, will resume processing on the next business day following the holiday.

Normal business operations will resume on Tuesday 3rd November, and 10th November 2026 respectively.

Arrival of Indentured Labourers is a national public holiday in Mauritius celebrated this year on 2nd November. It commemorates the landing of the first Indian indentured workers from the ship Atlas at Aapravasi Ghat in Port Louis on November 2, 1834.

Diwali is the festival of lights, a celebration symbolising the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. On this special occasion, families clean and decorate their homes, wear new clothes, and offer sweet cakes and treats to neighbours, friends, and family. The act of sharing is to strengthen the bonds of affection. In 2026, Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November, while the public holiday in Mauritius will be observed on Monday, 9 November 2026.
