TECHNICAL NEWS

1. 33^rd IMF Bi-Annual Coordinated Portfolio Investment Survey (CPIS) 2023

The Financial Services Commission, Mauritius (the “Commission”) is launching the 33^rd IMF Bi-Annual Coordinated Portfolio Investment Survey 2023 - Semester 1 to collect data on securities held by residents of Mauritius issued by unaffiliated non-resident enterprises (referred to as Portfolio Investment) as at 30 June 2023 by country of the issuer.

2. The Financial Services (Framework for the Imposition of Administrative Penalties) (Amendment) Rules 2023.

Kindly check the attached for the FSC Rules made by the FSC under Section 93 of the Financial Services Act.

3. Financial Crimes Commission Bill.

The object of this Bill is to provide for the establishment of the Financial Crimes Commission (the Commission), which will be the apex agency in Mauritius to detect, investigate and prosecute financial crimes such as corruption offences, money laundering offences, fraud offences, the financing of drug dealing offences and any other ancillary offence connected thereto. 3. Investec Communique | Digital optimization | Updated requirements for Incoming Mauritian Rupee EFT routing instructions

As part of their ongoing commitment to optimise their digital capabilities over the next few months, Investec will be enhancing their Straight Through Processing (STP) for both incoming and outgoing payments.

Investec is kicking off this journey with ‘incoming Mauritian rupee Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) routing instructions’. You can refer to the attached email.

Gravity Event with GRIT

Tuesday called for a Gravity Max Event with GRIT team. ITL, Perigeum, CMB, Ince and Accresco had the chance to race the GRIT team on the e-karting track! 🏎

We-Recycle

We-Recycle is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, to collect for recycling and to help shape policies, legislation and recycling programs that will help keep Mauritius clean and green. 🌎♻

ITL recently donated a significant number of old laptops to We-Recycle. The latter is going to partner with some organizations and is indirectly supported by Google to refurbish old laptops and donate to schools. Preeshma attended the launch of the project where the U.S Ambassador, H. E. Henry Jardine was present along with other partners collaborating together for the project.
