In schools and workplaces, it’s not unusual to see handmade cards, WhatsApp greetings, or even heartfelt poems dedicated to mums.


🌸 Mother’s Day is celebrated in over 50 countries, though the date and traditions vary. In the United States, it’s held on the second Sunday of May, inspired by Anna Jarvis, who wanted to honour her own mother and promote peace. In Thailand, the celebration is held on 12 August, in honour of the Queen Mother. Meanwhile, in Ethiopia, the occasion forms part of a multi-day autumn festival with singing and feasting. 🎶🍲
