Occasionally, we look back and ask ourselves how our journey in Andalusia actually began.

Only to time and again realize:

what makes this life here so special

are the people we meet along the way.

That was one of the main reasons why we started this adventure in the first place – and it’s still the part we love the most. Let’s be honest, without you, all of this wouldn’t make much sense anyway. 😉

We love the long chats over breakfast while the sun gently warms the day,
the laughter by the pool as it dips behind the mountains,
and those magical evenings when strangers at the table suddenly talk like old friends.

That’s what Cortijo El Sarmiento is all about:

A place where you don’t just take a holiday;

you slow down, reconnect, and join

the like-minded people around you.

When encounters become little miracles

And sometimes, these encounters turn into something quite wonderful.

Just like with Petra and Raymond.

They came to us as guests. Simply looking for a few sunny, peaceful days in Andalusia.

But it didn’t take long before we all clicked. How could it not, when wine merchants meet two former wine geeks? 😄

Evenings full of stories, laughter, and (of course) good wine followed.

During an olive oil tasting, somewhere between an “Oh, that's lovely” and “we'll take a bottle of that!” an idea was born.

A tiny piece of Andalusia right at home
