Subject: Toronto Real Estate Post November 2019 Edition

Greetings!

We’ve made a few changes to our newsletter and hope you like what’s in store. Be sure to read Alex’s personal blog post below, the first in a series of life stories and lessons learned along the way. It has been almost 6 years since Alex has shared his thoughts on a blog, so we hope you enjoy reading it (as much as he enjoyed writing it!).

We would love to know what you have enjoyed in this newsletter and if there are any topics that you would like to see in an upcoming issue! These emails are meant to keep you updated on what’s happening in the Toronto real estate market, as well as educate you on how to maintain your home, how to purchase or sell real estate, and how to invest in real estate. If there is something that you would like more info on, please let us know!

Alex and Elaine

“Congratulations - your offer was accepted”
These are five words that I never take for granted in this business and I am aware of the impact these words have for my client. My client’s life is about to change in a significant way each time I share these five words.

The new house my client just purchased is not just “a three bedroom house with a detached garage”. This new home is where this family is going to make many memories. This is where Johnny is going to learn to take his first steps. This is where Kelly will become best friends with her next door neighbour, Alicia. It’s not just a house, but a new chapter in someone’s life.

There was one specific situation I had earlier this year where this really hit home for me, and I was reminded of why… [click here to read the full blog post]

Rent prices expected to soar in Toronto over the next few years
Hold on to your rent-controlled place for dear life, my friend, because Toronto's affordable housing crisis is far from being over.

In fact, economists say that unless all levels of government take immediate action to spur new investment in rental housing, the situation is going to get much, much worse — as in worse than the already absurd $2,300 per month for an average one bedroom condo we're looking at now.
The tragic event that took place on April 23rd, 2018 will forever be remembered as the “Toronto Van Attack”. One of the victims was Anne Marie D’Amico whose life was violently and unexpectedly taken. Inspired by Anne Marie’s character and in remembrance of her spirit, this event will be a culmination of the foundation’s fundraising and awareness efforts while commemorating Anne Marie’s birthday each year. The Turtle Project will be an evening of live entertainment featuring dance performances, live music and magic. This prize package has a $275 value.
Congratulations to Mary-Anne M. for winning 2 tickets to Legends of Horror at Casa Loma last month!

Toronto Real Estate Market Report
September 2019
Toronto Real Estate Board President Michael Collins announced that Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported 7,825 sales through TREB's MLS® System in September 2019. This result represented strong year-over-year sales growth of 22 per cent compared to 6,414 sales reported in September 2018. It is important to note, however, that sales remain well-below the record September 2016 peak of more than 9,800 sales.
