Dear Friend,

Whew - This has certainly been a challenging year!

And, despite the COVID-19 crisis, the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County has continued its mission helping promote, support, and connect artists, cultural organizations, and creative businesses across coastal Fairfield County. To continue with the same energy and determination, we need your help this year's end. Please donate to our year-end appeal here.

Due to the pandemic, we have had to pivot and provide support to our more than 550 members virtually.

Since March, we’ve held weekly community calls and professional development webinars about ways to continue to do business.
FCBuzzEvents is at the core of what we do at CAFC.  Despite the pandemic restrictions, we urge our members to develop digital programs and we continue to create and send out our E-Buzz for free to over 3,500 people each week – without interruption.

In addition, our E-Buzz weekly selection of top-picks from the FCBuzzEvents website are broadcast everyday on WPKN radio.
We have also continued to broadcast our popular monthly “Spotlight on Arts & Culture” interview show on WPKN.  See this link to our Spotlight webpage with all the shows: https://culturalalliancefc.org/resources/spotlight-on-arts-culture/
During the COVID lockdown, we held a “Virtual Innovation Challenge” contest for the most innovative use of digital media by artists. The winners will be showing their work later this year with Beechwood Arts & Innovation.

We produced a series of public conversations and workshops for our members in response to the racism and inequity that was highlighted by the Black Lives Matter movement, and we made a commitment to addressing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all our endeavors.
We recently hosted an online forum of local state legislators – 18 of whom committed to actively support the arts and culture industry - an economic driver for our county and our state’s recovery. We followed up with a "Spotlight" radio show with four re-elected legislators.
In the words of Liz Shapiro, Director of the CT Office of the Arts, “CAFC is a strong and valued member of statewide arts organizations that we partner with to ensure that every person in Connecticut is touched by the arts.”
