Grants for Arts Projects is the NEA's principal grants program for organizations based in the United States. Applicants may request cost share/matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

MAKE MUSIC DAY 2022

FEBRUARY 4

Learn more about Make Music Day by joining the upcoming information session on Friday, February 4th from 12:00 - 1:00pm. Make Music Alliance will dive into their planning for 2022 and will share highlights from CT communities who participated in 2021. Each Make Music city is independently organized. Often it’s a local community group, media outlet, arts presenter, government agency, or civic leader who champions the musical holiday in their hometown. The nonprofit Make Music Alliance exists to serve these Make Music organizers around the world. Its goals are to promote Make Music participation, provide tools to help manage the event in each community, and foster collaboration, mentorship, and mutual support among its members.

LEGAL ENTITIES 102:

CHARITABLE NONPROFITS

FEBRUARY 14

What’s the difference between a nonprofit corporation and a for-profit corporation? Do “nonprofit” and “not-for-profit” mean the same thing? What is a “501(c)(3)”? Why do I need to file a return if my company is exempt from taxes?

Whether you’re hoping to create a brand-new charitable nonprofit or you’re currently a leader in an existing one, if you’ve also struggled with any (or all) of these questions, then this workshop is for you!

All start-up nonprofits are invited to attend this workshop led by experienced nonprofit attorneys, where we’ll walk through the fundamentals of the important (but complicated) process of establishing a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation.

Topics include:

· For-profit vs. nonprofit organizations

· Fiscal sponsorship

· Nonprofit corporate structure

· 501(c)(3) federal tax-exemption

· Duties of nonprofit directors and officers

· State and federal reporting requirements

The Zoom capacity for this live workshop is limited to 100, but it will be recorded.

JOBS

 CULTURAL ALLIANCE OF
FAIRFIELD COUNTY
PART TIME DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County seeks a part-time Development Officer to research and obtain short- and long-term financial support. The Development Officer will work closely with the Executive Director to help advance the Cultural Alliance during this unique period in its growth. With recent new funding, we are able to increase our staff, and recognize this critical moment to sustain and diversify that funding. Our pro-active focus on equity as a guiding principle requires a dedicated fundraiser who can enthusiastically support this drive by attending to, and tracking, our current and historic donors while tapping into new sources of local and national philanthropy.
