Enjoy a scintillating evening of jazz as fifteen-time Grammy nominee Fred Hersch and his Trio takes the stage outdoors at MoCA Westport.
A select member of jazz’s piano pantheon, Fred Hersch is a pervasively influential creative force who has shaped the course of jazz music over more than three decades as an improviser, composer, educator, bandleader, collaborator and recording artist.
Hersch has been proclaimed “the most arrestingly innovative pianist in jazz over the last decade” by Vanity Fair, “an elegant force of musical invention” by The Los Angeles Times, and “a living legend” by The New Yorker.
The trio, including bassist John Hébert and drummer Eric McPherson, was voted the #2 Jazz Group in the 2018 DownBeat Critics Poll, recognizing its unique ability to traverse a wide range of styles and approaches.
The concert will be held on our outdoor stage within MoCA Westport's vast, beautiful grounds with attendee groups spaced six feet apart. Bring your own lawn chairs, and you are welcome to bring your own food/drinks.
