Subject: Light Up Your Community

This month, we celebrate our members - artists, arts and cultural organizations, and creative businesses - who contribute to our communities in meaningful and powerful ways.

While the Arts are often thought of as entertainment or visual beauty, their impact touches our lives in a much deeper way.

The Arts are essential.

The Norwalk Art Space team with David Green, CAFC Executive Director

When you give to the Arts, the Arts give back.

Your support helps CAFC connect and support our members through networking, professional development, marketing, and advocacy.

Why does this matter?

Because when our members have access to creative partnerships, important programs, funding, and moments in the spotlight, they pass it on to our communities.

We are stronger together.

Connectivity and creative expression underline our core values and relationships. We shine a light on The Norwalk Art Space as an example.

Sunday "Artist Talk" at TNAS with Korry Fellow, Iyaba Ibo Mandingo. Moderated monthly by David Green.

In June of 2021, Robin Panovka opened The Norwalk Art Space (TNAS) - a passion project of his late wife, Alexandra Davern Korry, who purchased an abandoned church in 2019 with the dream of closing the opportunity and equity gap for kids through the arts.

One of the first tours of the space was with CAFC Executive Director, David Green, who affirmed the need for Alexandra’s concept and encouraged Robin to bring it to life. Green connected TNAS with key artists, recommended leadership, and offered suggestions and feedback on advisory board members.

One year later, TNAS has become a vibrant arts hub, gathering space, and a home for under-served students and under-represented local artists. They offer free exhibition space and studios, high-caliber art and music education, weekly classes for local students, and public events - all vital to the health and well-being of our future leaders, innovators and change-makers.

As we do for all our members, CAFC continues to alert TNAS of grants and other opportunities, helps to promote their events, and advocates on their behalf. The Preservation CT award that TNAS received in June 2022 was a result of a CAFC recommendation and nomination. Through membership, TNAS continues to thrive and infuse new energy into the city of Norwalk.

Support for CAFC is support for all.

“The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County has done an incredible job of connecting artists and arts and culture organizations across our county. In these unsettling times, the connections, information sharing and combined efforts towards bettering our community have provided needed support. We do better when we come together."
