DON'T MISS OUR NEW COLLECTIVE ACTION AGAINST RACISM & INEQUITY (CAARI)

CONVERSATION SERIES

We are taking advantage of two speaker events organized by member organizations, and one storytelling concert, to arrange a series of three conversations to expand our commitment to addressing equity issues. These are the next steps in our Collective Action Against Racism & Inequity initiative started in October 2020.

1. Isabel Wilkerson, Author of CasteThurs. April 28, 8pm

The Talk:  Buy your ticket to this Quick Center virtual event here

Pulitzer Prize winner and National Humanities Medal recipient Isabel Wilkerson is the author of two New York Times bestsellers: the critically acclaimed Caste, and National Book Critics Circle Award-winner The Warmth of Other SunsHear her speak on Zoom this Thursday. Read more. See Wilkerson's talks and interviews on video for free.

The Book: Caste, invites us to discover the inner workings of an American hierarchy that goes far beyond the confines of race, class, or gender. Steeping her stories in empathy, insight, and first-person accounts, Wilkerson layers analysis with story to explore the structure of an unspoken system of human ranking and reveals how our lives are still restricted by what divided us centuries ago. Buy your copy of Caste at AmazonB&NTarget.

The Conversation: Tues May 3, 6pm. Free on Zoom

Sign up now for your spot in our Zoom discussion group, with expert facilitators (to be announced) for a discussion of Isabel Wilkerson's talk, and her book.
