Halima Taha, Curator of "Adger Cowans: Sense and Sensibility," will present a lecture on collecting Black art, in conjunction with the exhibition currently on view in the Bellarmine Hall Galleries, "Adger Cowans: Sense and Sensibility." Taha is recognized as an art professional who has contributed to the field as a curator, appraiser, art advisor, educator, and speaker for more than twenty years. She is best known for her groundbreaking bestseller, "Collecting African American Art: Works on Paper and Canvas," the first book to validate collecting fine art, printmaking, and photography by Americans of African descent as viable assets and commodities within the marketplace. She is an arts advocate committed to nurturing the development, documentation, and acquisition of Black visual culture as a professional speaker and arts writer.

Ukrainian-American artist, CAFC member, and art gallery owner Oksana Tanasiv just announced a Charity Art Event to benefit her homeland. The gallery will present art works by Oksana Tanasiv, Miro Duzinkevich, Oksana Rudenko, Irina Rodnikoff, Elen Zelin, Paul Larson, Julie DiBiase and other artists who donated their art to benefit the cause. All funds raised from art will be donated to Ukrainian medical centers, Ukrainian Army, refugees camps and other people in need. For questions and details please reach out at 203-428-1895.
