Live or online, come to a lecture on North Carolina Mountain Singing with folklorist, performer and composer, Derek Piotr. He has worked directly with some of the last living tradition bearers of this family and will present his song-collecting and folklore studies in and around Appalachia. Registration is limited to 25 people for the in-person event.

It's the launch of the Music for Youth Concert Lecture series with cellist Gjorgj Kroqi. This concert will explore the birth and growth of Russian Nationalism that spawned an impressive generation of composers, musicians, dancers and visual artists. Kroqi is the orchestra director at Ludlowe Middle School & the cello teacher at Taft High School.

With The Rye Country Day School Festival Chorus.

Stamford Symphony and Vince Giordano provide vintage-style 1920’s music in a one-night performance that will recreate one of the most pivotal decades in American history. From Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton to Duke Ellington, the music remains timeless. Also on the program, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue featuring Stamford Symphony’s Music Director, Michael Stern and pianist Mackenzie Melemed.

Westport’s Unitarian Church hosts New York’s Choral Chameleon Ensemble with the live premiere and record release of Edward Thompson's "Step Into the Night." This is a twelve-movement choral soliloquy, written in response to the ever-changing state of the world. Saxophonist Jeff Walton and The Brad Whiteley Trio will appear as well.

Hear a bluegrass performance led by one of the country's premier contemporary bluegrass mandolinists. The Jacob Jolliff Band is a rotating quartet of some of the most virtuosic and innovative young acoustic pickers in the country, including Alex Hargreaves on fiddle. Considered one of the best improvising violinists in the world, Hargreaves is the winner of the Grand Masters Fiddle Championship.
