A family-friendly evening hosted by Ridgefield Poet Laureate, Barb Jennes, this celebration will feature three renowned Connecticut Poets Laureate as well as Khaiim "RapOet" Kelly (aka Self Suffice), the inaugural troubadour of the City of Hartford, whose positive use of rap music has been recognized by the Obama White House, The NY Times, and NPR. Speakers include Iyaba Ibo Mandingo, Marc Maihan, Zane St. Juste, & Lisa James-Owens.

It’s the 2018 American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios, and starring the late Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black Panther. T'Challa, heir to the hidden but advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must step forward to lead his people into a new future while confronting the challenges of the past.

He is crowned king of Wakanda following his father's death, but he faces a big challenge.

Catch poet Iyaba Ibo Mandingo, in this autobiographical solo-performance in which he paints a picture of his life on stage as the arc of his memories and experiences connect to recent history and the current zeitgeist of social reckoning. This moving journey takes the audience through a series of memories in the life of a Black male artist/poet, who emigrated at 9 yrs old from Antigua to Connecticut.
