This week, Michelle Loh interviews Lois Bielefeld & Nirmal Raja who have launched several collaborative projects exploring identity, place, and belonging. Raja has rarely worn her collection of 150 saris due to internalized social pressures. But she is now wearing the sari as an act of resistance against conformity.
