A Dialogue in Styles: Jahmane and Adger Cowans

Opening Reception

An opening reception for  an exhibition of work by two multigenerational artists at different stages of their ever-evolving careers. Jahmane is a “graffiti” artist whose style has evolved through his use of a wide range of mediums and forms (including fashion, graphic design, cultural ico-nography and murals) to express his sense of the world. Photographer Adger Cowans, internationally renowned for his portraits, street and political scenes, developed a fasci-nation with the abstract and spiritual power of light and continues a more recent experimentation with paint in many abstract forms. The Sova Dance & Puppet Theatre presents a storytelling and puppet-making workshop. Participants will learn a story told for possibly thousands of years in the Saskatchewan region of North America where a once plentiful, now endangered, great bird lives during nesting season. This is the setting for rabbit who has a dream of going to the moon. SOVA Puppet Theatre will tell their own version of this story after participants make puppets together using natural materials to bring the forest creatures to life. More... 
Snakes of the World

Presentings a children’s workshop. From the longest snake in Connecticut to the smallest python in the world, learn about the ecology of these amazing creatures. Each child will get to decorate their own wooden snake to take home. More...
