Dramatic Escape

Avon Theatre Film Center


A Documentary Night screening co-presented by Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA), in which viewers are transported into the lives of a group of maximum security prisoners who are attempting to mount a behind-bars stage production of A Few Good Men at Sing Sing. Please join us for a post-film Q&A with RTA Executive Director Katherine Vockins and RTA Alumnus Charles Moore.

Paintings of Jan Dilenschneider

July 12 through Oct. 15
Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum

Twenty new paintings by Cultural Alliance member artist Jan Dilenschneider will be featured in an exhibition curated by Gail Ingis, opening Wednesday. Ms. Dilenschneider is the only living American artist to have her work on display at the Grand Palais in Paris. (More)

Thrown Stone presents the U.S. Premiere of Milk, a new play by Ross Dunsmore. Three couples struggle to meet their basic needs for food, love and survival. As they try to make sense of a changing world, their inner desires and appetites become driving forces that could lead to either catastrophe or redemption. (More)

Women And War - An Historic Look At Heroic Women

Westport Country Playhouse

As part of its community programming extending the reach of its production of Grounded, about a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot grounded by an unexpected pregnancy, the Playhouse has partnered with the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame (CWHF) for this multimedia presentation for teen and adult audiences, that gives a sweeping history of women's involvement in warfare, with special attention paid to several women who have been inducted into CWHF.  (More)

Opening Reception

This special summer members exhibition was juried by Charlotte Strick, Art Editor of The Paris Review, and Claire Williams Martinez, former Chapter President of AIGA Chicago. The eight artists chosen for SELECTS 2017 include Cultural Alliance members Eric Chiang, Louise Flax, William Glaser, Xiao Mai Kong, and Jarvis Wilcox. (More)
