Subject: Shakespeare Festival - Last Chance!

EAT Foundation Update
July 2, 2019
Hello Friend,

Summer is finally here!

The past few weeks and months have brought with them many new opportunities for collaboration & partnership, and we are looking forward to seeing where these new paths may lead in the days ahead.

We are especially excited about the chance to participate in the Neighborhood Resource Center's Jr. Iron Chef Competition on August 24th. We've taken part in this great event for the past two years, and we are thrilled to see that it is becoming something of a tradition!

A few events and opportunities of our own are detailed below as well. The Shakespeare Festival in particular still has a few spots left for EAT's pre-show dinner on July 5th, but tickets need to be purchased before close of business on Wednesday, July 3 -- so act fast!

If you have any questions about any of EAT's plans for the coming months, or simply want to learn about EAT more generally, or even just say hi, please feel free to drop us a line.

You can send any questions or comments to zachary@eatogether.org
Shakespeare Festival
For the second year in a row EAT will be participating in Richmond's annual Shakespeare Festival, put on by Quill Theatre and Agecroft Hall & Gardens.

Last year we had an absolutely outstanding time, and this year on Saturday, July 6 and Friday, July 5 we are hoping to repeat our success.

Tickets for the dinner are $80, which includes a three course tasting menu including wine pairings, a welcoming cocktail, and specially reserved seats for the performance following our meal.

Just like last year, the performance will be The Complete Wrks of Wllm Shkspr, a comedic rendition of Shakespeare's "Comedies, Histories and Tragedies in one wild night that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter."

This is your last chance to reserve space at the Friday dinner/performance -- Tickets to the dinner preceding the show will not be available after tomorrow.
Cooking Classes
EAT has spent a great deal of time and effort putting together a culinary & nutritional "curricul-yum" to reinforce cooking skills and healthy eating habits in our community.

Currently, we are coordinating with a few other non-profits within Richmond's community to figure out the most efficient way to bring this programming to as many individuals within Richmond as possible. As we continue to do so, we will be sure to keep you in the loop regarding our progress, and any opportunities to volunteer and/or participate.

While the details are still being figured out, we welcome any suggestions, requests, or insight you may have about how to best accomplish this goal. If that sounds broad, that's because it is. We understand that this will be an iterative process, so we are keeping ourselves as open as possible to any and all input!
Got any ideas?
Recognizing that EAT is at a transition moment in our development, we are trying to stay aware of as many potential opportunities to shape, and be shaped by, our community as possible.

If you have any thoughts about what this might look like, please reach out to share them.

We believe that collaboration will always bring about stronger outcomes and solutions, so any ideas you have -- about projects EAT should pursue, approaches we should consider, topics we should investigate -- are warmly welcomed.

Thank you, Friend, for your support. We believe that food can be used as a tool to build stronger communities, teach important skills, and feed both people and passions throughout one's life, and your support is critical to our pursuit of that belief.

Best for a great start to July,
Zach McElgunn
