Hello Mighty Companion,

Most of us think prayer is about asking for something we do not yet have—peace, healing, financial relief, a better outcome, or clarity about what to do next. When those things do not appear quickly, it can feel as though nothing is happening.

In this week’s teaching, “Stop Bargaining with God: The Real Reason Your Prayers Seem Unanswered | ACIM | Earl Purdy,” we conclude our exploration of “The Answer to Prayer” in A Course in Miracles (Text, Ch. 9, Sec. 2) by looking closely at paragraphs 11–12.

In these final paragraphs, the Course introduces a powerful idea:

“The recognition of having is the willingness for giving.”

The Course explains that “it is impossible not to have, but it is possible not to know you have.” In other words, the problem is rarely that nothing has been given. The deeper issue is that the mind has not yet learned to recognize what is already present.

What we believe is missing—peace, love, support, even abundance—may already exist in our lives, but our awareness has not yet caught up with it. According to the Course, recognition begins when we start extending those very qualities ourselves. As we give peace, appreciation, kindness, and abundance, the mind begins to realize that those qualities were never absent in the first place.

Discover How to Recognize The Answer to Your Prayers

Most people assume the answer must be that God hasn’t responded yet. Maybe the timing isn’t right. Maybe we didn’t pray hard enough. Maybe the answer is still on its way.

In A Course in MIracles Chapter 9, Section II, “The Answer to Prayer” (T-9.II.11–12), the Course states something startling: it is impossible not to have what God gives—but it is possible not to know that you have it.

That single idea changes everything.

If the Course is correct, the issue isn’t that our prayers go unanswered. The issue is that we often fail to recognize the answer when it’s already present.

So the question becomes: How do we recognize what we already have?

The answer the Course gives is simple—and surprisingly practical.

1. Giving Proves That You Already Have It

In this section the Course says that we set the value on what we receive and that we price it by what we give.

In other words, what we extend reveals what we believe we possess.

Think about the logic:

If you give peace, you must have peace.
If you give love, you must have love.
If you give support, you must have support.

If I hand someone five dollars, that act proves I had five dollars to give. The same principle applies to qualities of the mind. When you extend patience, kindness, forgiveness, or understanding, you demonstrate that those qualities already exist within you.

Giving becomes evidence of having.

✨ A Week of Renewal: The New Moon and Spring Equinox

This week brings one of the most significant turning points of the astrological year: the Spring Equinox on March 20, when the Sun enters Aries. Astrologically, this marks the beginning of a new cycle and is often considered the true energetic New Year. The equinox represents balance between light and darkness, inviting reflection on where you are in your life and what new direction may be ready to emerge.

Just before the equinox, the New Moon in Pisces on March 19 creates a powerful moment for spiritual intention. Pisces energy encourages intuition, compassion, and imagination. It is less about forcing change and more about listening deeply to the guidance that arises from within. This New Moon offers an opportunity to quietly plant seeds for what you would like to grow as the more active energy of Aries begins.

Shortly after the equinox, Mars forms a harmonious trine with Jupiter on March 21, bringing a wave of momentum and encouragement. Mars represents action and motivation, while Jupiter expands whatever it touches. Together they can inspire confident steps forward—especially when those steps come from insight, creativity, or compassion rather than pressure or fear.

Taken together, these alignments suggest a meaningful transition. First comes reflection and inner listening, then clarity about what truly matters, and finally the courage to move forward. For many people, this week may feel like the moment when a quiet realization begins turning into action.
