Why I'd Rather Have Miracles Than Magic (Teacher's Manual, Section 12)Growing up, I used to love magic. Pulling rabbits out of hats and making coins disappear was cool and exciting. Then I got into A Course in Miracles and discovered what it calls "magic." Spoiler alert: it’s not the fun kind.
In the Course, magic means trying to fix problems with anything other than God. Now, I'd much rather have miracles than magic. Teacher's Manual, Section 12, 'How Do God's Teachers Deal with Magic Thoughts?' lays it out: anger and fear come from one thing — believing you’re separate from God.
Your anger isn’t about what happened; it’s about your interpretation of what happened. Fear doesn’t come from your paycheck, your relationship, or your health. Fear comes from the crazy idea that you could be cut off from Love itself.
Want to know how to overcome fear and anger? Stop analyzing your problems to death! It's your mind. You can change it. Accept that you’re feeling separate, forget trying to figure out why, and move forward.
Spiritual healing isn’t about being perfect; it’s about remembering. You’re still loved. You're still connected. And you're not powerful enough to mess that up — thank God. |
