In this week’s teaching, “Why You Can’t Pray for Yourself Alone | ACIM Text Chapter 9 Section II” we continue exploring the promise from Chapter 9 that every prayer is answered. Last week we looked at how we often aim prayer at the symptom instead of the fear underneath it. But this week we go further. The Course tells us we cannot pray for ourselves alone, which means the very structure of our prayer determines whether we can recognize the answer.


If prayer is inclusion, then a request rooted in separation quietly reinforces the belief that we are alone, vulnerable, and competing. When we pray only for “my” outcome, “my” relief, or “my” advantage, the answer can seem delayed—not because Spirit withholds anything, but because contraction blocks recognition. The shift is not about denying what we want. It is about widening it. When prayer expands to include everyone, the identity underneath it changes, and so does our ability to experience the answer.

Why Self-Focused Prayer Makes the Answer Seem Delayed

ACIM Text, Chapter 9, Section II — The Answer to Prayer (Part 2)

There is a line in this section of A Course in Miracles that completely reframes how most of us understand prayer:


“You can no more pray for yourself alone than you can find joy for yourself alone.” (T-9.II.6:1)


That single sentence quietly dismantles the idea of private prayer. Most of us were taught that prayer is personal — something between “me and God,” something I do when I want something in my life to change. But the Course tells us something radically different. Prayer is not private. Prayer is inclusion. And if I am still praying from separation, I am preventing myself from recognizing the answer that is already present.


The Course continues by saying that prayer is the restatement of inclusion, directed by the Holy Spirit under the laws of God. That means when I pray only for my health, my abundance, my peace, or my success, I am still operating from the belief that I am separate from everyone else. And separation is the very thing that obscures the answer. If my prayer excludes, it reinforces the illusion that I am alone.

Then comes the statement that makes this practical: salvation is of your brothers and sisters of the world. My healing is tied to how I see you. My answered prayer is connected to whether I include you in the blessing I am asking for. If I want joy, I must want it for everyone. If I want abundance, I must allow abundance for everyone. If I want peace, I must extend peace.

Love is inclusive — or it isn’t love at all.

✨ Astrology Insight for February 28 - March 7, 2026 - A Structural Threshold

The week of February 28 through March 7 is not just intense — it is foundational. The rare Saturn–Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries marks the beginning of a new 29-year structural cycle. Zero degrees Aries is the ignition point of the zodiac. When Saturn, the planet of long-term structure, meets Neptune, the planet of vision and spirituality, at this degree, it signals that dreams must now become architecture. What you begin building now has staying power.


But this week is not only about structure. It sits in the aftermath of powerful February eclipses that accelerated change and dismantled outdated identities. Eclipse energy breaks patterns quickly. Saturn–Neptune asks what replaces them. This creates a threshold effect. You are not where you were, but you are not fully stabilized in what is emerging.

At the same time, the Pisces emphasis intensifies emotional sensitivity and intuitive awareness. Insight is high. Boundaries can feel thin. This is a spiritually porous atmosphere, which makes grounding essential. Vision without structure dissolves. Structure without vision hardens. This week demands both.


In short, this is not a reactive week. It is a construction week. If something inside you feels like it is ending and beginning at the same time, that is accurate. The question now is simple and serious: What are you ready to make real over the next several years?
