Subject: My New Movie - A Coming of (Middle) Age Story

DriverX Kickstarter
Dear Friend,

I hope you had a great Easter weekend!

As you know, in addition to making the occasion high school reunion video, I'm an independent filmmaker in Los Angeles. I specialize in micro-budget feature films, and I'm excited to tell you about my newest one, DriverX.

DriverX is about a middle-aged, stay-at-home Dad who has to start driving for an Uber-like rideshare company in order to support his family. Writer/Director Henry Barrial actually drove for Uber for several months to help make ends meet, and many of the events in the film were pulled from his own experiences.

DriverX is about how middle-aged Americans still have to hustle to survive in today's economy, and how Gen Xers have to cope with a world now being run by the generation behind them. It's about the struggles of marriage, fidelity and changing gender roles, and it comments on this new Gig Economy. At its heart, it's a Coming of Middle Age Story.

And yes, we also reveal the craziness of Ridesharing in L.A. If you've ever wondered what really happens late at night in those cars, you'll want to see this film!

We've got an amazing cast, starting with our star, Patrick Fabian. If you're a fan of Better Call Saul, you know Patrick as Howard Hamlin. We also have Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine Nine), Desmin Borges (You're The Worst), Oscar Nunez (The Office), Travis Schuldt (Scrubs), and many, many more great folks.

We're currently editing the film and I have just launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise finishing funds that I'd love to share with you.

For a sneak peek of the footage, head over to the Kickstarter page and watch our video, (and see me embarrass myself in said video!). You'll get a good look at what we've been up to. And check out our rewards--we've got some great stuff for you.

After a solid launch, we now have less than 18 days left to reach our goal.  As you probably know with Kickstarter, it's all or nothing. So, jump on in and take the journey with us. We'd love having you along for the ride!

Best,
Mark
