Public Comment Period Open for Technologies Subject to City’s Surveillance Ordinance: The City of Seattle has published the first draft of Surveillance Impact Reports (SIRs) for six of the 29 currently existing surveillance technologies. Share your input by November 5. (more)

Adopt-a-Street and Help Keep Seattle Clean: Join more than 3,000 volunteers who clean up nearly 200 miles of city streets. The mission of the Adopt-a-Street program is to promote civic responsibility and community pride as well as to enhance Seattle's quality of life through clean streets and beautiful neighborhoods. New Commissioners Sought for the Seattle Design Commission: The open positions are licensed architect, transportation planner, and landscape architect. Commission members receive an hourly rate as compensation for their service. Apply by November 30. (more)

Join the Seattle Transit Advisory Board: Do you want to have a say in the future of Seattle’s mass transit? The Transit Advisory Board (TAB) is accepting applications through Friday, October 12, for new members. (more)

Join a Community Advisory Committee: Seattle Public Utilities is recruiting diverse community members to serve on their Creeks, Drainage and Wastewater Advisory Committee, Solid Waste Advisory Committee, and Water System Advisory Committee. (more)

Apply for Arts in Parks Funding: The Arts in Parks program supports new and established community festivals, art happenings and music concerts that enliven Seattle parks. (more)

Only in Seattle Initiative Request for Applications: These grants support local businesses, building owners, and residents in uniting around a common vision for their district and working together to achieve it.  Apply by October 29. (more)

Announcing the Environmental Justice Fund: The Seattle Office of Sustainability & Environment is offering a new grant opportunity for community-led projects that improve environmental conditions and respond to impacts of climate change. Apply October 15. (more)

Volunteer for Green Seattle Day on November 3: Hundreds of volunteers will plant thousands of plants in parks throughout the Emerald City, and all community members are welcome to participate. (more)

Mayor Signs Expansion and Renewal of SODO Business Improvement Area: The new SODO BIA will have an estimated budget of $1 million in 2019 to fund transportation projects, public safety improvements, community events and increased outreach and advocacy for the district. (more)

Rainier Avenue at I-90 Closed for up to Three Weekends in October: Construction of the Judkins Park Station will increase this fall. To construct the station entrances at Rainier Avenue, crews will begin demolishing a portion of the westbound I-90 lanes above Rainier Avenue. (more)
