The Consecration to the Guardian Angel Second Fundamental Direction: Contemplation 1. After Adoration, our most important task is to strive for a deeper prayer life. Why? How does prayer change us? What effect does it have on us?
2. God is present in the events of our lives and He calls to each of us individually. Meditation helps us hear what God wants to say to us and what He wants us to do. How do I recognize these connections and respond to them? 3. Have you ever been on the water when it was so smooth you could look into it and see the sky? There is a calmness that permeates the air, helping soothe away frustrations and discord in your heart. It’s like taking a deep cleansing breath and layers of worry and animosity slip from your shoulders and your soul is at peace. How can we quiet our minds and hearts daily and even throughout the day so we can be disposed to the voice of God and of our Guardian Angel? 4. God speaks to us through His word which we receive by hearing or by reading. He also speaks to our heart at Holy Communion or during a quiet meditation. The Angel also speaks to our hearts. We hear him when we are interiorly calm and receptive. Give examples of how we might distinguish the voice of the Angel from that of the tempter. 5. We must obey the invitation or call of God when we recognize it. Sometimes we hesitate because of fear. What are some suggestions for surrendering your will? 6. Share something that works for you regarding taking Scripture with you into the day. What do you do and how do you remember to pray with it throughout the day?
