You Are Divine Mercy for America

Almsgiving - Prayer - Fasting

Dear Friend,

I hope to inspire you with something that the Holy Spirit has been laying on my heart lately regarding Divine Mercy for America; both its mission and its members. These thoughts have grown stronger as we have continued the monthly Holy Hour Novena for Our Nation that began in January.

If you haven't been able to join us, or know what I am talking about, here's the deal.

Each month, between the 1st and the 9th, we join together via Zoom with dozens of wonderful prayer warriors from all over the continent and beyond to pray for our native lands the way St. Faustina prayed for hers. As a result, we have made friends with like-minded souls from across the miles, even countries, and have been able to share with each other, learn from each other, and even care for each other. It has truly been a beautiful experience.

About 20 minutes before the holy hour begins (5:00 pm ET) we most often have a guest speaker share a teaching, or inspiration, or information about the work of their apostolate. Our speakers have been amazing! Not only do we learn from them and about them, but they learn about us and how the members of Divine Mercy for America are praying for THEM. We have seen firsthand how this lifts people up and strengthens us all.

Reflecting on the fruits of the holy hours, which, by the way, are recorded and posted on our YouTube channel for those that can't join us live, I see a sea of smiling faces that love the Lord. I hear the voices of those who trust in His mercy and marvel at the footsteps of those who are walking in faith.

I am aware that they, and that you ARE - DIVINE MERCY FOR AMERICA!

With that said, I thought this would be an appropriate time to repost a thought-provoking homily given by Fr. Kaz Chwalek, MIC at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy last July on the Three Pillars of Spirituality. Times are increasingly stressful and difficult and require devout prayer and fastings. But, Fr. Kaz reminds us that there are three pillars, not two, and it is important to incorporate all three.

Makes sense. If you want to stand firm, two legs are better than one, but with three, you're set.

Click here to join Fr. Kaz on YouTube.  It begins with the gospel of the day from St. Matthew. Powerful.

Make sure you're set, because remember, YOU are Divine Mercy for America!

God bless your Fast Friday,
