Fr. Amruth on Christmas in India - what joy to be CATHOLIC!
-

Dear Friend,

One of the incredible beauties of the Catholic Church is that it is catholic - meaning "including or concerning all humankind; universal."

One of the blessings of the online Divine Mercy prayer meeting is that it allowed us an opportunity to experience the universality of our Church and to build a bond across borders, oceans, time, and space.

To that point, today, before we ZOOM to the adoration chapel in Vilnius, Lithuania, for our holy hour of prayer, we will be joined by Fr. Amruthraj, coming to us all the way from India. Father is excited to show us how he helped prepare his communities and children for Christmas. It will be a joy to hear the stories and see the faces of those who believe and pray as we do from this land far away, yet so close!

Happy Solemnity of the Baptism of Christ. Let's celebrate the last day of this month's novena together.

If you cannot join us this afternoon, you can check out the recorded program on our YouTube Channel whenever you're able. Please take a look at the details below.

Hope to see you zoom - and again, Happy New Year!

Fr. Amruthraj

Kurnool, India

Fr. Vijay Amruthraj was ordained to the priesthood on February 20, 2014. He has been serving the Sirvel Parish in the Diocese of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India, but is soon relocating to Great Britain for missionary work.

In 2017, Father first received the Diary of St. Faustina from the Carmelite nuns at his parish and began to read it. So moved by the message, Fr. Amruth worked on translating the book into Telugu for four years, his native dialect spoken by 100 million souls.

While searching the internet for Divine Mercy groups in 2021, Father happened to run across the Divine Mercy for America online prayer meeting and holy hour. He continues to join every month to share his work and teachings and to pray with the group.

The translated Diary was published and released in 2022, just prior to Easter. The bishops and every priest in three dioceses received a copy of the book with great gusto. A Divine Mercy for India initiative modeled after the Divine Mercy for America Action Plan is now underway. God bless India!
